The brief for this project was to invent an interactive toy for young children. I visited a local school to research the way children thought and see what they enjoyed doing, and the outcome was a toy made up of several silkscreened perspex sheets. When overlapped, the shapes on the perspex work together to form animals, food, cars and any imaginary creature the child wants to create. The aim of the toy is to be stimulating and manual, with no wrong answers or reward other than the child’s personal satisfaction. In collaboration with Joyanne Horscroft.
