This book is the story of a reclusive bibliomaniac doctor, who kept his house locked to the world for over 30 years: last year,
I was lucky enough
to be let inside. The chapters are in reverse chronological order, each one corresponding to a member of the family. I photographed the house
and informally interviewed the family members, collecting anecdotes and opinions, and used found material from the house to complement the quotes
seenthrough the space he occupied. The pages are french-folded, with the story of his house on the outisde and the story of his family on the inside:
the book has to be destroyed to be understood fully, much like his life was.
